51 22 233 Removing and installing/replacing Bowden cable for outer door handle in left or right rear door

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove SUPPORT FOR OUTER DOOR HANDLE ON REAR DOOR 
• Remove WINDOW CAVITY COVER STRIP 

Removal: 

Open side window completely.

Partly release rubber window seal for door window glass (1).

Release screws (2) and carefully feed out the triangular trim (3) upwards and remove it.

Close side window completely.

Release screws (1 and 2).

Unclip locking rod (3).

Disconnect plug connection on door lock (4).

Feed out door lock (4) from the door and detach Bowden cable (5) at the same time.

Installation: 

Attach Bowden cable (5).

Feed in door lock (4) into the door.

Tighten screws (1) first, then tighten screw (2).

Tightening torque 51 22 3AZ .

Clip in locking rod (3).

Connect plug connection on door lock (4).

Open side window completely.

Feed in triangular trim (3) and tighten screws (2).

Carefully mount rubber window seal (1).

Close side window completely.
