51 71 447 Detaching and attaching/replacing trim panel for left or right door sill

Preliminary work needed:

Remove TRIM ON TRIM PANEL FOR COVER ON SIDE MEMBER in front and rear
Partly release TANK COVER .

Removal:

Release expanding rivet (1).

Remove clips (2).

Remove screw (3).

NOTE: Doors hidden for purposes of clarity.

Release fixtures (1 and 2).

Unclip door sill trim panel (3) sideways from the clips and remove.

Installation:

Replace faulty clips (1 to 3).

Open doors.

Position trim panel (3) and engage in clips.

Mount clips (1 and 2).

NOTE: Replace faulty expanding rivets (1 and 2).

Tighten expanding rivet (1) and screw (3).

Mount clips (2).

Required reworking:

Install TRIM ON TRIM PANEL FOR COVER ON SIDE MEMBER in front and rear
Install TANK COVER
