51 11 158 Replacing base plate for number/license plate: Notes

Only use the vehicle-specific number plate baseplate.

The installation of other license plate baseplates is not permissible.

Refer to LICENSE PLATE ATTACHMENT AT FRONT .

The license plate must be mounted exactly on the number plate baseplate.

If a number plate baseplate is not offered for the corresponding national-market version, the license plate must be mounted directly on the bumper using a drilling template

Incorrect assembly leads to a malfunction of the sensors of the driver assist systems.

NOTE: Schematic diagram shown on example of F56 MINI Cooper S national-market version USA.
There may be differences in detail in the case of other versions.

Removal:

Unscrew the screws (1).

Remove holder (2) towards front.

Installation:

Position support (2).

Tighten down screws (1).

NOTE: For initial installation on new bumper cover, pre-drill marks on bumper.
