61 20 900 Disconnecting and connecting battery ground lead

WARNING:

Follow SAFETY REGULATIONS  for handling vehicle battery.

Follow the notes for DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING THE VEHICLE BATTERY !

Follow instructions on INTELLIGENT BATTERY SENSOR  (IBS).

Removal: 

Partially detach seal (1).

Loosen cap nuts (1).

Open locks (2) by turning them counter clockwise.

Remove windshield panel cover (3).

Loosen nut (1).

Remove battery ground lead (2).

Unlock connector (3) from IBS and disconnect.

Secure battery ground lead (2) at the side.

Installation: 

Connect the connector (3) to the IBS.

Join battery ground lead (2).

Tighten nut (1).

Tightening torque 61 21 1AZ .

Thread in the windshield panel cover (3).

Turn the locks (2) to the right until the stop is reached.

Tighten cap nuts (1).

Tightening torque 61 21 6AZ .

Join gasket (1).
