11 12 729 Checking cylinder head watertightness (B36A/B38A)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove CYLINDER HEAD .
Remove all HYDRAULIC VALVE CLEARANCE COMPENSATING ELEMENTS
Remove ECCENTRIC SHAFT

Unscrew nuts (1).

Tightening torque 11 12... .

Remove clamping strip (2).

Position and fasten cylinder head (1) on special tool.

Position and fasten special tool on the exhaust side of the cylinder head (1).

NOTE: Assemble both special tools in a way that all water ducts on the cylinder head are sealed.

Disassemble connecting branch (1).

Attach and fasten special tool to cylinder head.

NOTE: Compressed air at special tool maximum 3 bar .
Heat cylinder head to 60 °.
Visual inspection in a water bath.
