31 12 046 Replacing the bracket for the wishbone on the left or right

Special tools required:

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove WISHBONE .

Removal:

Insert special tool 11 0 420 into bore hole in wishbone pin.

Preparing special tool 31 2 100 :

Replace original spindle by spindle 23 0 272 .
Mount special tool 31 2 103 on special tool 31 2 102 .

Position special tool 31 2 100 and pull off holder with rubber mount (1) with spindle 23 0 272 .

NOTE: When pulling off wishbone, ensure that inner sleeve of rubber mount does not remain on wishbone pin.

Installation:

Coat the inside of the rubber mount using 4 UH 1-460 lubricating oil (part number: 0 306 232).

Align holder with rubber mount (1) to wishbone (see illustration).

Slide on holder with rubber mount (1) onto wishbone pin (2) up to limit position.

Required follow-up work:

Install WISHBONE .
