34 32 881 Replacing front left or right brake hose
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read and comply with GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS .
Removal:
Press brake pedal down to floor and secure with pedal support.
This prevents brake fluid from emerging from the expansion tank and air from entering the system when the brake lines are opened.
Disconnect brake hose from brake line (1).
Release brake hose (1) from brake caliper; if necessary, grip at knurled screw (2).
Remove retaining bracket (3) in direction of arrow.
Installation:
Mount brake hose (1) on brake caliper.
First tighten brake hose on brake caliper.
Move wheels into straight-ahead position.
Never twist brake hose when installing it and avoid all contact with parts attached rigidly to the body.
Tighten down brake hose (1); grip at knurled screw (2) for this purpose.
Tightening torque 34 32 2AZ .
Install retaining bracket (3) in direction of arrow.
Tightening torque 34 32 1AZ .
Mount brake hose on brake line (1) and tighten down.
Remove pedal support.
Required follow-up work:
- Bleed BRAKE SYSTEM .
