34 00 025 Replacing fluid in DSC brake system
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Read and comply with GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS .
Always use approved brake fluids, refer to OPERATING FLUIDS .
Release screw plug (1).
Remove cover (2).
To guarantee a correct bleed of the brake system, observe the following:
- Top up the brake fluid in the expansion tank to the lower edge of the thread (1) with new brake fluid.
- Bleed the hose of the bleeder unit before connecting.
Connect bleeder unit (1) on expansion tank and switch on.
Observe manufacturer's instructions for the respective equipment being utilized.
Charging pressure should not exceed 2 bar.
Fully flush the rear axle brake system.
Connect bleeder hose with collecting tray to bleeder valve on rear right brake caliper.
Open bleeder valve and purge until clear, bubble-free brake fluid emerges.
Close vent valve.
Carry out the same procedure on the rear left wheel brake.
Fully flush the front axle brake system.
Connect bleeder hose with collecting tray to bleeder valve on front right brake caliper.
Open bleeder valve and purge until clear, bubble-free brake fluid emerges.
Close vent valve.
Carry out the same procedure on the front left wheel brake.
Switch off bleeder unit and remove from expansion tank.
Check brake fluid level. If necessary, top up/draw off to maximum level.
Close expansion tank.
Mount cover (2).
Lock screw plugs (1).
