11 36 658 Removing and installing/replacing both actuators (B48, B46)

Special tools required: 

• 2 360 895

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove ACOUSTIC COVER 
• Remove AIR INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING

Removal: 

Release clamp (1).

Remove the clean air pipe (2).

Unlock the cable routing (1) and pull it off the cylinder head cover in upward direction.

Unlock and disconnect the connector (1) for the intake actuator.

Unlock and disconnect the connector (2) for the exhaust actuator.

Twist the intake actuator (1) by means of special tool 2 360 895 approx. 50° in direction of arrow and remove.

Twist the exhaust actuator (1) by means of special tool 2 360 895 approx. 50° in direction of arrow and remove.

Installation: 

Position the exhaust actuator (1) and twist it with special tool 2 360 895 in direction of arrow until the limit position rests against the clamp.

Position the intake actuator (1) and twist it with special tool 2 360 895 in direction of arrow until the limit position rests against the clamp.

Connect the connector (1) for the intake actuator.

Connect the connector (2) for the exhaust actuator.

Clip the cable routing (1) into the cylinder head cover from above.

Install the clean air pipe (2).

Connect the clamp (1).

Required follow-up work: 

• Check engine function and check for leak tightness.
