Installing replacement transmission (GS6-58BG) (Cooper base)

IMPORTANT: After completion of work, check TRANSMISSION OIL LEVEL .
The vehicle must be parked on a level surface in the 095 workshop to check the transmission oil level.
Use only the approved transmission oil: MINI transmission oil MTF 2 or MTF 3.

Failure to comply with this instruction will result in serious damage to the transmission.

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of leakage transmission oil.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations

Preliminary work needed:

Drain transmission oil at oil drain plug. Tightening torque: 23 00 1AZ .
Remove TRANSMISSION (without wheel alignment!) .

Reassemble the vehicle.

Check oil level.

The vehicle must be parked on a level surface in the 095 workshop to check the transmission oil level.

Installation note:

Use only the approved transmission oil: MINI transmission oil MTF 2 or MTF 3.

Required reworking:

Remount GEAR SENSOR , if necessary.
After installing the gear sensor, it is necessary to teach in the position of the gear sensor again.
The adjustment is carried out using the BMW diagnostic system "Service function" (teach in gear sensor).
Use new self-tapping screws to tighten the RUBBER MOUNT OF THE TRANSMISSION MOUNT .
Tightening torque 22 32 1AZ .
