Removing and installing rear (EDC) support bearing for shock absorber (Cooper Convertible)
Special tools required:
- 33 0 040
Preliminary work needed:
- Remove REAR SHOCK ABSORBER .
Removal:
Release adapter plate (2) from support bearing.
Disconnect connector (1) from shock absorber.
Remove adapter plate (2).
Release nut (1) with special tool 33 0 040, reversible ratchet with extension and socket SW10.
Remove spring strut mounting (2).
Impact screwdrivers are prohibited!
Risk of damage inside the shock absorber!
Installation:
Fit support bearing (2).
Part: Replace nut (1).
Tighten down nut (1) with special tool 33 0 040, reversible ratchet with extension, socket SW10 and torque wrench with ring wrench attachment SW21.
Tightening torque 33 52 3AZ .
Impact screwdrivers are prohibited!
Risk of damage inside the shock absorber!
Installation note:
Make sure cable routing (1) is in the correct position. See figure!
Connect connector (1) to shock absorber.
Fit adapter plate (2) on support bearing and engage.
Required follow-up work:
- Install REAR SHOCK ABSORBER .
