41 62 014 Adjusting tailgate

IMPORTANT:
Do not damage adjoining body components.
Minor corrections (realignment work) are permitted if the existing adjustment options are not sufficient.

Observe GAP DIMENSIONS .
The tailgate must be provided with all attachment parts for correct adjustment.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove the REAR SPOILER .
- Partially loosen rear HEADLINING .
Adjustment points for adjusting tailgate to fit.
NOTE:
When the tailgate is closed, the striker must not bump or scrape against the tailgate lock.
If necessary, remove STRIKER .
Slacken nut (1) on both sides.
Adjust tailgate laterally, longitudinally and vertically. Tighten nuts.
If the range of adjustment is insufficient, slacken nut (1) on both sides.
Adjust height of tailgate. Tighten nuts.
Required follow-up work:
- Tighten all nuts to the SPECIFIED TORQUE .
- Adjust the TAILGATE CATCH if necessary.
- Adjust STOP PAD .
- Touch up unpainted surfaces in the appropriate color, as needed.
