- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

- Adjust the front seat fully to the rear.
- Loosen screws (1).

- Place the front seat fully to the rear and disconnect the plug connector (1).

- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.
- Remove the front seat with the assistance of an support person.
Mounting the front seat on the universal seat mount
- Fit special tool 2 154 711 onto special tool 0 495 187 (00 2 300).
- Mount the front seat onto the special tool 2 154 711.
To ensure correct repair, use of the special tools 0 495 187 (00 2 300) and 2 154 711 is recommended.
