REP-TAT-P-5218-01 Remove side airbag from front seat

Preliminary work
- Remove driver's side FRONT SEAT and/orpassenger's side FRONT SEAT.
- Remove left or right front seat INNER COVER
- Remove the left or right front seat OUTER COVER for backrest adjustment.
- Remove the STEERING LEVER for backrest adjustment.
- Remove the SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT LEVER
- Remove the front seat OUTER COVER
- Remove trim for BACKREST RELEASE
- Remove the front seat backrest REAR PANEL
- Remove the TRIM at the bottom of the aperture.

Airbag unit.

- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

- All work on pyrotechnic parts may be carried out by technically experienced and appropriately trained personnel only.
- Replace any damaged part or ones that have been dropped.

- Open zipper (1) in the arrow direction.
- Open zipper (2) in the arrow direction.
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the left and right side.
- Release seat cover (1) and fold to the side.
- Loosen nuts (1).
- Carefully take out side airbag (1) downwards out of cover pocket (2) and set it down.
- Release the connector (1) from the holder.
- Release the cable tie (2).
- Release locks (3) and take out the connector (4).
- Release cable (5) from all holders and set aside with side airbag.
- Variant with seat heating:
Unlock plug connection (6) and disconnect.
Feed out relative cables.
