51 43 002 Removing and installing (replacing) rear left or right side trim panel

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Fold down rear seat backrest
• Remove REAR SEAT
• Remove TRIM PANEL FOR DOOR POST  (B-pillar)
• Remove TRIM PANEL FOR ROOF PILLAR AT REAR  (C-pillar)
• Release LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH PANEL  in area of side trim panel

Removal: 

Release screw (1).

If necessary, release edge protection (2) in area of side trim panel.

Release screw (1).

If necessary, release edge protection (2) in area of side trim panel.

Release side trim panel (1) inward towards clip (2) and clamp (3).

If necessary, unlock associated plug connections and disconnect.

Feed out side trim panel (1).

Replacement: 

Remove TWEETER .

Installation: 

NOTE:

US national-market version only: 

Foam support (1) must be fitted.

If necessary, stick the foam support (1) together.

Comply with NOTES ON BONDING COMPONENTS .

If necessary, replace faulty clips (2) and clamps (3).

Feed in side trim panel (1).

If necessary, connect related plug connections.

First attach the side trim panel (1) to the clamp (3), and then attach it to the clip (2).

Tighten screw (1).

Make sure edge protection (2) is correctly seated.

Release screw (1).

Make sure edge protection (2) is correctly seated.
