Removing and installing/replacing central mount for prop shaft (Cooper ALL4)

Special tools required: 

Preliminary work needed: 

Removal:

Use special tool 2 450 247 to remove the centering bearing.

Insert pin (1) and pin (2) of the special tool 2 450 247 in the centering bearing of the prop

shaft.

Twist pin (1) by 90° in relation to pin (2).

Insert pin (2) between pin (1) and (3) of the special tool 2 450 247 in the centering bearing of the prop shaft.

Twist pin (2) by 90°.

Lock the special tool 2 450 247 by twisting the sleeve (1).

The pins (2) are retained by the sleeve (1).

Install the guide sleeve (1).

Screw the spindle (3) with the special tool 2 450 247 (2) and support at the guide sleeve (1).

Twist the nut (1) in arrow direction and pull out the centering bearing.

Installation:

Remove grease from center bore.

Drive centering into prop shaft with special tools 11 2 030 and 00 5 500 (observe protrusion).

IMPORTANT: Plastic central mount must not be greased.

Installation note: 

Observe protrusion A = 6 mm of centering (1).
