REP-TAT-P-6312-02 Install headlight

• Replace the adjusting elements (2).

  Parts:  Adjusting elements

  The adjusting elements (2) may not be reused.

• Replace screws (1).

  Parts:  screw

• Position the headlamp (1).
• Press screws (2) into the adjusting element only until you can feel them reach the stop.

  The screws (2) must not be screwed in.

• Tighten screw (2) on headlamp (3) hand-tight.
• Press screw (1) into the adjusting element only until you can feel them reach the stop.

  The screw (1) must not be screwed in.

• Release detents (1) and (2).
• Remove seal (3) from headlamp.

• Insert special tool 2 361 198 into the hood from outside.

  Guide lugs (1) are affixed for correct installation.

• Secure special tool  2 361 198 using special tool  2 361 199.

• Make sure that the hood is in a supported position.

  The hood must not be closed.

• Position special tool 2 361 198 (C) on headlamp (1).

• Make sure that the hood is in a supported position.

  The hood must not be closed.

• Insert special tool 2 361 198 into the hood from outside.
• Secure special tool  2 361 198 using special tool  2 361 199.

• Close the engine compartment lid.

  The front compartment lid has to be closed properly on both sides.

• Lift, align, and hold the headlamps (1) using special tool 2 361 198 (C).

• If the headlamps cannot be aligned: 

  Raise hood.

  Slacken nuts (1) and screw (2).

  Slide headlamp slightly backwards.

  Tighten nuts (1) and screw (2) hand-tight.

  Close the engine compartment lid.

  Lift, align, and hold the headlamps (1) using special tool 2 361 198 (C).

• Hold the aligned headlamp (1) in position using the special tool 2 361 198.
• Tighten the screws through the openings of the special tool 2 361 198.
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Headlight to body
  screw
  Replace screws and adjusting elements
  Tightening torque	6 Nm

• Check the alignment of the headlamp.
• Remove special tool 2 361 198 (C).
• Raise hood.
• Remove special tool 2 361 198.

• Install the seal (3) on the headlight.

  The detent (1) and (2) must engage correctly.

• Tighten screw (2) on headlamp (3).
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION
  
  

  Headlight to side panel
  screw
  Tightening torque	6 Nm

• Connect the connector (arrow).
• Clip in cable clip.
• Position the chrome ring in the hood.

The clamps (1) must audibly engage.
