51 45 030 Removing and installing instrument panel trim (Countryman 2017-2023, except PHEV)
When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).
Removal:
Preliminary work needed:
The following parts must be removed as preliminary work.
For equipment specification with Head-Up Display, make sure that Head-Up Display is retracted.
Remove screw (1).
Release and feed out the trim (1) at the clamps (2).
Detach and remove the trim (1) at the clamps (2).
Unscrew the screws (1).
Detach and remove the trim (1) at the clamps (2).
Unscrew the screws (1).
Disconnect plug connection (1) from front passenger airbag (2).
US version only (no diagram):
Disconnects plug connections (1) from front passenger airbag (2).
(Observe notes regarding AIRBAG PLUG CONNECTIONS ).
Unscrew the screws (1).
Unscrew the screws (1).
Remove the instrument panel trim (1) and thereby feed out the wiring harness (2).
Installation:
Make sure that guides (1) on dashboard (2) are correctly seated in respective mountings of bulkhead.
Make sure gaskets are correctly seated on air ducts.
Insert foam shaped part of dashboard (2) correctly at center and install.
Tighten down screws (1).
Tightening torque 51 45 1AZ .
Tighten down screws (1).
Tightening torque 51 45 1AZ .
Connect plug connection (1) of front passenger airbag (2) and lock.
US version only (no diagram):
Connect 3 plug connections (1) of front passenger airbag (2) and lock.
(Observe notes regarding AIRBAG PLUG CONNECTIONS ).
Tighten down screws (1).
Tightening torque 51 45 1AZ .
Attach and clip in the trim (1) at the clamps (2).
Tighten down screws (1).
Tightening torque 51 45 1AZ .
Attach and clip in the trim panel (1) at the clamps (2).
Feed in the trim (1) and clip it in at the clamps (2).
Tighten screw (1).
Tightening torque 51 45 1AZ .
Required reworking:
The following parts must be installed as follow-up work.
