Adjusting rear left or right side window (Cooper Convertible)
Special tools required:
- 2 360 051
- 51 2 220
Preliminary work needed:
- Remove outer window CAVITY COVER STRIP .
Prerequisite:
FRONT DOOR correctly adjusted.
SOFT TOP correctly adjusted.
Ideal setting:
Close soft top.
Side window glass (1) must rest in seal (2) over entire width.
Area (A) of door window glass (3) must rest fully on the side window glass seal (4) (wind noises, water ingress).
Gap between side window and side panel:
Ideal adjustment:
Gaps (A and B) between side window (1) and side panel (2):
Dimension (A) = 20.5 ±1 mm
Dimension (B) = 11.5 ±1 mm
Open Easyload trunk.
Remove plug (1).
Slacken screw (2) underneath.
Adjust measurement (A) by shifting side window glass.
Tightening torque 51 37 3AZ .
Raise door pillar seal from inside window channel strip.
Slacken screw (1) underneath.
Adjust measurement (B) by shifting side window glass.
Tightening torque 51 37 3AZ .
Slacken multi-tooth screws (2) with the special tool 2 360 051 A only until the side window glass (1) can just be shifted with little effort.
Ideal adjustment, longitudinal direction:
Side window glass (2) must be positioned with dimensions (A) to door window glass (1).
Dimension (A) = 13.5 ± 1 mm.
Door window glass (1) must be the same height (B) as the seal (3) as far as possible.
Dimension (B) = 0 ±1 mm
Side window glass (2) must demonstrate a parallel gap to the door window glass (1).
Adjust side window glass (2) in line with the specified dimensions.
Tighten multi-tooth screws (1) using special tool 2 360 051 B.
Tightening torque 51 37 2AZ .
Preload (D) of the side window glass:
Ideal adjustment :
Side window glass (1) must shift into the convertible top seal when convertible top is closed.
Door window glass (2) must rest firmly on side window glass seal (3) when convertible top is open.
Adjust preload (D) using special tool 51 2 220 by turning toothed knurled nut (1) on mounting (2).
