Remove and install/replace charge air cooler (Cooper)

Preliminary work needed: 

• Remove FAN COWL .
• Remove front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
• Partially release WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR .
• Remove THRUST FIELD

Removal:  - Release screws (2) for front right cross connection - Drill out blind rivets (1) for front right cross connection.

Release screws (2) for front left cross connection - Drill out blind rivets (1) for front left cross connection.

Release front right charge air hose and disconnect from charge air cooler.

Release front left charge air hose and disconnect from charge air cooler.

Release front left and right locking pins (1) and remove locks (2) - Remove cross connection (3).

Release screws (1), thread charge air cooler (2) out downwards and remove.

Installation:  - Thread charge air cooler (2) in and install - Tighten down screws (1) - Tightening torque 17 10 2AZ .

Install cross connection (3) - Install locks (2) and lock with locking pins (1).

Replace screws (2) for front right cross connection and tighten - Tightening torque 17 10 9AZ - Replace blind rivets (1) for cross connection and rivet - Parts:  Blind rivet.

Replace screws (2) for front left cross connection and tighten - Tightening torque 17 10 9AZ - Replace blind rivets (1) for cross connection and rivet - Parts:  Blind rivet.

Connect front right charge air hose (1) and lock - Charge air hose (1) must audibly engage on charge air cooler.

Connect front left charge air hose (1) and lock - Charge air hose (1) must audibly engage.

Required follow-up work: 

• Install FAN COWL .
• Install THRUST FIELD .
• Install front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
• Fasten WASHER FLUID RESERVOIR .
