Removing and installing/replacing fan cowl with electric fan (Cooper)
Only perform this repair work after engine has cooled down.
When the engine is stopped after the completion of trip, it may be necessary to run the electric fan - In rare cases, operation of the electric fan can last up to 11 min. This protects the components. In this case, replacing the electric fan will not remedy the problem! - Preliminary work needed:
- Remove CROSS CONNECTION .
Removal: - Remove seal (1) from radiator
Unlock and detach connector (1) from fan cowl - Unclip clips (2) from fan cowl and place cable to one side - Unclip coolant hose and tank vent line from fan cowl (3).
Unscrew the screws (1).
Unlock right lock (1) on fan cowl.
Unlock left lock (1) on fan cowl.
Feed out fan cowl (1) in arrow direction and remove.
Installation: - Feed in fan cowl (1) in arrow direction and install.
Lock left and right locks.
Tighten down screws (1) - Tightening torque 17 10 1AZ .
Connect connector (1) to fan cowl - Connector (1) must engage audibly - Connect clips (2) to fan cowl - Connect coolant hose and venting line (3) to fan cowl.
Install seal (1) on radiator.
Required follow-up work:
- Install CROSS CONNECTION
