Removing and installing/replacing the oil pressure switch (B36, B38, B46, B48) (Cooper Convertible)
IMPORTANT:
Read and comply with NOTES
on protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD protection).
Preliminary work needed:
- Remove FAN COWL .
Removal:
The oil pressure switch is located beneath the high pressure pump.
IMPORTANT:
A small amount of motor oil emerges when oil pressure switch is removed.
Have a cleaning cloth ready.
Catch and dispose of motor oil.
Have a cleaning cloth ready.
Catch and dispose of motor oil.
Unlock connector (1) and detach.
Release and remove oil pressure switch (2).
Installation:
Replace sealing ring.
Part: Sealing ring
Install and tighten oil pressure switch (2).
Tightening torque 12 61 2AZ .
Attach connector (1).
Connector (1) must engage audibly.
Required follow-up work:
- Install FAN COWL .
- Check engine oil level, top up if necessary.
