Adjusting Trunk Lid (Cooper, Cooper S, John Cooper Works)
Attention:
Do not damage adjoining body parts.
Minor corrections (realignment work) are permitted if the existing adjustment options are not sufficient.

Observe GAP DIMENSIONS .
The trunk lid must be provided with all attachment parts for correct adjustment.
When closing the door, the strikers must not come into contact with or grind against the tailgate locks. Look out for scratch marks.
Loosen striker and remove, If necessary.
Slacken screws (1) until such stage that the trunk lid can still be shifted.
Adjust trunk lid in longitudinal direction.
Tightening torque 41 62 1AZ .

After Installation note:
- Tighten all screws and nuts to specified torque.
- Touch up unpainted surfaces in the appropriate color.
- Adjust the striker, if required.
