65 12 315 Removing and installing (replacing) Headunit (high option)

Attention  !

Risk of damage!

There is a hard disk installed in the headunit.

Carry out mechanical work on the headunit and adjacent components with care.

Avoid subjecting the headunit to vibration/shocks.

Attention  !

IMPORTANT:

Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

Comply with notes on HANDLING OPTICAL FIBRES .

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

REMOVAL: 

Release screws (1).

NOTE: The number of connectors may vary depending on the equipment specification.

Unlock and disconnect all connectors (1).

Feed out the headunit (2) towards the top.

INSTALLATION: 

Feed in the headunit (2) from top to bottom.

Connect and lock all the connectors (1).

Tighten down screws (1).

Only for US models with satellite radio: 

Additional work is required when replacing the headunit!

Replacement: 

Carry out VEHICLE PROGRAMMING AND ENCODING .

Install correct navigation map in vehicles with production date as of 07/2015.
