51 12 156 Removing and installing rear bumper panel

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove both NUMBER PLATE LIGHTS

Release expanding rivets (1).

Release screws (2) and lever the cover (3) out of the bumper latch mechanism (4).

NOTE: Carry out work on the right side in the same way as for the left side illustrated here.

Installation note:

Replace expanding rivets (1).

Release screws (1).

Pull off the bumper panel (2) slightly towards the rear with aid of a 2nd person.

If necessary, unlock the plug connections for the ultrasonic sensor and disconnect.

Remove the bumper panel (2).
