41 34 060 Stripping operations - Replacing outer and inner tail panel sections

NOTE: Owing to the different engine variants and equipment specifications, not all the components are taken into consideration.
The following list basically represents the removal sequence.

Disconnect negative battery cable (job number: 61 20 900)
Remove bumper trim (FR number: 51 12 156)
Remove bumper carrier (FR number: 51 12 050)
Remove left and right holder for bumper (job number: 51 12 801)
Remove guide for bumper at rear center (job number: 51 12 825)
Remove trim on tail panel at top (job number: 51 46 050)
Remove luggage compartment floor trim panel (FR number: 51 47 101)
Remove and install left and right luggage compartment wheel arch panels (FR number: 51 47 151)
Remove rear lid lock (FR number: 51 24 100)
Remove left and right tail lights (job number: 63 21 170)
Completely remove exhaust system (job number: 18 00 020)
Remove rear heat shield
Partially detach tailgate seal

Detach wiring harness (1) at attachment points and tie forwards.

Remove tailgate vents (2).

Detach holder (3) for bumper and remove.

Installation note:

The rear ventilation (2) must not be damaged. (watertightness).

All latch mechanisms must engage audibly.

Release nut (1) for ground connection.

Tightening torque 41 34 1AZ .

Loosen screw connection for control unit (2).

Detach wiring harness (3) at attachment points and tie forwards.

Release insulating mat (4) and tie forwards.

Release nut (1) for ground connection.

Tightening torque 41 34 1AZ .

Detach wiring harness (2) at attachment points and tie forwards.

Release insulating mat (3) and tie forwards.
