61 35 950 Removing and installing (replacing) control unit for comfort access system

IMPORTANT: Read and comply with notes on PROTECTION AGAINST ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD PROTECTION) .

NOTE: The comfort access system is a radio-based system and can be interfered with by radio waves from other systems (e.g. mobile phone).

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove the cover from the right luggage compartment wheel arch panel
Partially remove the right LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH PANEL .
Vehicles from production 03/2013:
Remove right FRONT SEAT

NOTE: Similar to graphic.

For a better view, the luggage compartment wheel arch panel on the right is shown removed.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.

Remove control unit for comfort access system.
