51 16 367 Removing And Installing Right Glovebox (With Active Knee Protector) With Housing

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

• Remove trim for instrument panel at bottom right. Refer to 51 45 181 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INSTRUMENT PANEL TRIM AT BOTTOM RIGHT .
• Disconnect battery negative lead. Refer to 12 00... INSTRUCTIONS FOR DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY .

Release screws (1) and (2).

Pull glovebox (3) with housing towards rear until Bowden cable is accessible.

Version Up To MY 2004: 

Lever out lock (1) towards front and detach Bowden cable (2).

Version From MY 2005: 

Lever out lock (1) towards rear and detach Bowden cable (2)upwards.

Unhook Bowden cable nipple (3).

Version With Active Knee Protector: 

Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.

Remove glovebox (3). Refer to 51 16 366 REMOVING AND INSTALLING RIGHT GLOVEBOX WITH HOUSING  and 51 16 367 REMOVING AND INSTALLING RIGHT GLOVEBOX (WITH ACTIVE KNEE PROTECTOR) WITH HOUSING .

Version Without Active Knee Protector: 

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Remove glovebox (2). Refer to 51 16 366 REMOVING AND INSTALLING RIGHT GLOVEBOX WITH HOUSING  and 51 16 367 REMOVING AND INSTALLING RIGHT GLOVEBOX (WITH ACTIVE KNEE PROTECTOR) WITH HOUSING .

Installation: 

Adjust glovebox (1) to instrument panel (2):

1. A = approx. 5 mm.
2. B = approx. 4 mm (center).

   Check function.
