41 12 535 Rear Luggage Compartment Floor Complete Replacement (Tail Panel Removed)

Spot-weld bonding is used for the first time on the E65. A specific procedure   must be followed here.

Place vehicle on straightening bench.

Following new body parts are required:

• (1) Luggage compartment floor
• (2) Extension, wheel arch, left
• (3) Luggage compartment floor, side
• (4) End panel, left

Open weld joints in areas (1).

Mark longitudinal member in accordance with measurement a and cut.

Measurement a = approx. 210 mm from axle screw connection.

Installation: 

Weld in reinforcing plate   approx. 40 mm long.

Cut wheel arch extension in edge (1).

Open weld joints in areas (2).

Remove end panel (3) and open weld joints behind.

Mark longitudinal member in accordance with measurement a and cut.

Measurement a = approx. 100 mm from rear M6 thread.

Installation: 

Weld in reinforcing plate   approx. 40 mm long.

Open weld joints in areas (1).

Remove side luggage compartment floor (2).

Mark severance cut on longitudinal member in accordance with measurement a and cut completely.

Measurement a = approx. 100 mm from rear M6 thread.

Installation: 

Weld in reinforcing plate   approx. 40 mm long.

Preparation of new part: 

Mark new luggage compartment floor part in accordance with previous severance cuts and cut.

Installation information: 

Adjust luggage compartment floor to fit with straightening attachment or universal mount.

Before welding in, also adjust tail panel, rear lid and rear lights to fit.

Cut new wheel arch extension part 20 mm above edge (1).
