51 44 001 Removing and installing/replacing headlining

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Release expanding rivet (1).

Undo the headlining (2) at the clips (3).

Release expanding rivet (1).

IMPORTANT: Perform the following repair work with a second person to give assistance.

Loosen the edge protection (2) at the door/luggage compartment lid cutout around the headlining (3).

Remove the headlining (3) through the front passenger side door aperture.

Installation note:

Make sure EDGE PROTECTION (2) is correctly seated.
