72 11 030 Removing and installing/replacing front left or right seat belt

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove panel for door post
Remove outer cover on front seat

WARNING: Read and comply with safety regulations for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical belt tensioners.
Improper handling can lead to triggering of the pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner or side airbag, resulting in injuries.

Switch off ignition!

Release screw (1).

Installation:

For tightening torque refer to 72 11 04AZ in 72 11 SEAT BELTS .

Release screws (1) and remove belt guide (2).

Release screw (3) and remove belt (4).

For tightening torque refer to 72 11 03AZ in 72 11 SEAT BELTS .

If necessary, release screws (5) and remove connecting plate for belt deflection fitting (6).

For tightening torque refer to 72 11 02AZ in 72 11 SEAT BELTS .

Release screw (1).

Remove automatic reel (3).

For tightening torque refer to 72 11 01AZ in 72 11 SEAT BELTS .

Installation:

Coding (2) of automatic reel must be seated in opening of body.

Retaining screw (1) secures belt retractor.
