54 13 085 Removing and installing/replacing complete panorama sunroof

Special tools required: 

• 54 1 120  . See Fig 6.

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove gas generator on left and right  (without folding pack). See 72 12 060 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT HEAD AIRBAG .

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Detach front water drain hoses.

Detach rear water drain hoses.

Overview of panorama sunroof: 

• Release screws (1).
• Tightening torque 54 12 5AZ .
• Have helpers secure panorama sunroof against falling down.

• Release screws (2).
• Carefully lower sunroof and remove from car towards rear through rear lid opening.

Replacement: 

• Carry out vehicle programming/coding 

Installation: 

If necessary, remove fabric adhesive tape.

To stop grating noises, secure all screws (1) prior to installation with plastic washers (2).

If the standard screws can no longer grip, use "repair screws" (larger threads).

Installing glass slide/tilt sunroof: 

Installation: 

To align panorama sunroof to body-cutout, insert screws and tighten loosely.

Panorama sunroof must still be able to move in the body-cutout.

On account of leaks, panorama sunroof must be exactly aligned to body-cutout.

Insert special tool 54 1 120  into centering bores up to stop in panorama sunroof and body.

Panorama sunroof glides into place.

Tighten down screws.

Tightening torque 54 12 5AZ .
