51 71 426 Removing and installing/replacing panel for cover on left or right side member

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Release clamps (1).

Installation:

Replace faulty clamps (1).

Release screw (1) and threaded blind rivets (2).

R55 right side only:

Lever out trim (1) with a suitable tool.

Release clips (2).

Installation:

If necessary, replace faulty clips (2).

Release panel (1) at clips (2) and remove.

Installation:

If necessary, replace faulty clips (1 and 2).

Replacement:

Subsequently cut out aperture (1) and bore (3) for outer strut of cross reinforcement at trim panel (2).
