23 11 310 Replacing shifting unit

Installation note:
After installing the shifting unit, it is necessary to teach in the position of the zero-gear sensor again.
The adjustment is performed using the "Service Function" of the BMW Diagnosis System (learn/write the zero-gear sensor).
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove RESONANCE BODY AND INTAKE PORT (N12, N16)
- Remove INTAKE SOCKET FOR INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING (N14, N18, N47)
- Remove intake silencer housing (W16)
- RELEASE COOLANT EXPANSION TANK and place to one side
Remove coolant hose from bracket (1).
Release clips on limit position/holder (1).
Detach selector lever cables (2) at ball joints.
Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 23 41 1AZ
Pull shifting unit up and out of transmission.
Note installation position.
Installation note:
Clean thread pitches.
Replace microencapsulated screws.
Apply Loctite 5203 sealing compound.
