54 34 415 Repairing the soft top cover with the repair kit

NOTE: Install a repair kit with BMW part number 7 276 922.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove OUTER WINDOW CAVITY COVER STRIP
Partially release SOFT TOP TRIM STRIP

Remove gasket (1).

Release clamp (1) and unclip insert (2) downwards.

NOTE: Use wing/fender cover.

Feed out insert (1) upward and place it on wing/fender cover.

Cut out metal insert (1) as shown with suitable tool.

Minimum distance, soft top cover trim 2 mm.

Remove adhesive remnants (1) and (2) on the inside and outside with a suitable tool.

Pierce through positioning holes (1) with soft top with suitable tool.

Pull off protective films (1) of adhesive tapes.
