13 64 501 Removing and installing or replacing a fuel injector (N12, N16)

Necessary preliminary work

Recycling

Fuel escapes when fuel line is detached.

Catch and dispose of escaping fuel.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations.

NOTE: This procedure is applicable to all fuel injectors.

Lever out fuses (1).

Pull the fuel injector (2) out off the fuel injection pipe.

Installation note:

Replace sealing rings on fuel injectors and coat with rubber care product.

NOTE: Assemble engine.
Check fuel system for tightness.
Check stored fault messages.
Delete fault memory.
