11 12 670 Cleaning intake port with walnut shell granulate (N14)

Special tools required:
- 2 302 630
IMPORTANT:
The intake valves of the corresponding cylinder must be closed when cleaning the intake ports.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove SPARK PLUGS .
- Partially disengage the INTAKE PLENUM .
IMPORTANT:
Determine the top dead center via the spark plug bore hole using the special tool 2 302 630.
Crank engine at central bolt.
Prepare peener (81 29 2 208 034) with walnut shell granulate.
Position extraction adapter (81 29 208 038) over intake port of first cylinder.
Hole for probe (see arrow in illustration).
Insert suitable probe (3) in extraction adapter (81 29 2 208 038).
Connect compressed air connection.
Valve (1) - compressed air.
Switch on vacuum cleaner.
Valve (2) - walnut shell granulate.
Procedure:
Cleaning time approx. 30 seconds.
The cleaning result is improved by moving the probe (3) in a circular pattern.
Operate valve (1) for an additional 10 to 15 seconds to assist cleaning.
NOTE:
Check that no walnut shell granulate remains in the intake ports.
Assemble engine.
