52 17 035 Removing and installing/replacing gearing for head restraint adjustment

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove shaft for head restraint adjustment, refer to 52 14 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC)

Remove retainer (1) on left and right.

Remove gearing (2) on left and right straight towards front.

Installation:

To ensure identical adjustment of gearings (2), carry out following work step on both gearings:

Unscrew component (4) until threaded rod (5) is flush with edge (3).
