Special tools required:

• 00 9 321

Remove fresh air grill on right and in center. Refer to 64 22 138 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING RIGHT FRESH AIR GRILL (AUTOMATIC A/C HIGH) and 64 22 162 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING CENTER FRESH AIR GRILL (AUTOMATIC A/C HIGH) .

Remove instrument cluster trim. This task is described in the section "Removing center wood trim on instrument panel". Refer to 51 45 363 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING CENTER WOOD TRIM ON INSTRUMENT PANEL .

Release screws (1).

Release nut (1).

Installation: 

Tightening torque, 51 45 2AZ. Refer to BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

With special tool 00 9 321 (fishbone) through openings (1) for fresh air grill, unclip wood trim (2) next to retaining pin (3).

Slide threaded pin (2) with wood trim (1) out of panel (3).

Remove wood trim (1) towards rear.

Installation: 

Pin (1) and threaded pin (2) of wood trim (3) must not be damaged.

Installation: 

If necessary, replace damaged clips (1) (Hutfix).

No clip (Hutfix) is fitted in mounting (2).

Replacing clip (Hutfix): 

1. Turn clip (1) with screwdriver to left by approx. 60°.
2. Lever out clip (1) from below.

Installation: 

1. Insert clip (1) from above and snap into place at bottom.
2. Then turn clip (1) with screwdriver to right by approx. 60°.
3. Clip (1) in end position.
