18 21 051 Replacing all exhaust suspension elements

These tasks should only be carried out on an exhaust system that has cooled down!

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove rear muffler or exhaust system, refer to 18 12 030 Removing and installing/replacing rear muffler (COOPER S)

Release screws (1) and remove reinforcement plate.

Remove rubber mount (2) from exhaust pipe and replace.

Tightening torque 18 00 4AZ. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Remove rubber mount (1) of rear exhaust suspension element and mountings and replace.

NOTE: Always replace rubber mount if rear muffler mounting or rear exhaust suspension element is replaced.
