18 12 030 Removing and installing/replacing rear muffler (COOPER S)

Only perform this task after exhaust system has cooled down!
Assistance is required to support exhaust during removal.

Remove centre pipe to manifold flange fixings (1).

Install hint:

Replace seal.

Replace nuts.

Coat threads with copper paste - CRC.

Tightening torque 18 00 2AZ. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Remove screws (1) from reinforcement plate.

Remove exhaust pipe.

Tightening torque 18 00 3AZ. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Remove exhaust system fixings (1) to rear hanger strap of the left muffler.

Tightening torque 18 00 1AZ. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Remove exhaust system fixings (1) to rear hanger strap of the right muffler.

Tightening torque 18 00 1AZ. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
