64 12 650 Removing and installing/replacing receiver/Telestart of independent heating

Installation location E 39 saloon/sedan: on wheel arch, right.

Partially remove backrest or rest side section for rear seat, refer to 52 24 005 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR SEAT (NORMAL) or 52 26 005 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR SEAT (THROUGH LOADING) .

Pull off connector, unfasten screw and lift out Telestart receiver.

Installation instructions: 

Receiver must be reinitialized after replacement.

Installation location E39 Touring: on trunk floor.

Remove trunk floor trim panel.

Pull off connector, unfasten screw and lift out Telestart receiver.

Initialization

With a new Telestart receiver both hand transmitters must be reinitialized.

1. Interrupt voltage supply of receiver by pulling fuse as per circuit diagram for approx. 10 seconds.
2. Insert fuse. Briefly actuate switch-off rocker switch of hand transmitter within next 3 seconds.
3. Briefly actuate switch-on rocker switch of hand transmitter within next 5 seconds.
4. After another 3 seconds remote control is ready for operation.
5. Briefly actuate switch-off rocker switch of hand transmitter; switch-on indicator lamp then no longer flashes.
6. Then carry out function check.
