64 12 015 Removing and installing complete heater (Thermo Top Z/C)

Remove front left wheel.

Remove front left wheel arch lining.

WARNING: Danger of scalding!
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.

Disconnect plug connections (1).

Clamp water supply hoses, and disconnect supply, return and fuel hoses.

Loosen hose clamps (2).

Detach water hoses (3) and fuel hose (4).

Release screws or expansion rivets and remove floor trim.

Loosen screws (1).

Release pipe clamp (2).

Separate exhaust pipe (3) from exhaust manifold (4).

Move heater (5) in direction of arrow and remove.

Installation:

Replace rubber grommets if necessary.

Top up coolant and vent cooling system, refer to 17 00 005 DRAINING OFF AND TOPPING UP COOLANT (M54) .
