51 16 040 Replacing left or right outside mirror housing

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove 67 13 001 REPLACING DRIVE UNIT FOR ELECTRICALLY OPERATED LEFT OR RIGHT DOOR MIRROR .

Open door window.

Turn door mirror (1) upwards and release screw (2).

Unclip cover (3) and remove.

Installation:

Tightening torque, see 51 16 9AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Installation:

Catches (1) of cover (2) must not be damaged.

Release screws (1).

Installation:

Tightening torque, see 51 16 9AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Removing housing:

Lever out catches (1).
Lever out from mirror base (2).
Feed out from carrier plate (3) and remove.

Installation:

Following parts on housing (4) must not be damaged or missing:

Thread
Catches
Guide

Carry out function check.
