51 21 310 Removing and installing/replacing window cavity cover strip on front door

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Open complete door window glass.
Remove Front Door Trim Panel .

NOTE: Window cavity cover strip comes in one part for outside (4) and inside (2).

Detach cover (1) from front door.

Detach inner window cavity cover strip (2) from retainers (3) towards top.

Detach outer window cavity cover strip (4) from outer door panel towards inside/top.

Installation:

Coat window cavity cover strip (1) with water before fitting.

NOTE: When removing door window glass, close the glass to dimension (A).

A = approx. 110 mm

Installation:

If necessary, detach faulty retainers (1) from inner door panel and replace.

Installation:

Following parts of window cavity cover strip (6) must not be damaged or missing:

Catches
Inner window cavity cover strip
Sealing lips
Outer window cavity cover strip
Aluminum strip
