61 35 510 Removing and installing or replacing electronic body module (ZKE)

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

Release nuts (1) and remove ZKE.

Disconnect multiple connector (1).

Replacement:

Carry out programming/coding. Refer to DIAGNOSIS PROGRAMMING/CODING .

Version up to 09/03: 

It is necessary to adjust the headlights when ZKE (1) BC1 with ribbed metal housing is replaced by ZKE (2) BCRD with plastic housing. Refer to 63 10 004 ADJUSTING HEADLIGHTS .

Build date from 09/03 or replacement of same ZKE: 

No adjustment of headlights necessary.
