11 62 000 Removing and installing, sealing/replacing exhaust manifold

Detach exhaust system from manifold. Refer to 18 12 030 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING REAR MUFFLER (W10) .

Disconnect both oxygen sensor connectors.

Undo retaining screws (1) for heat shield.

Tightening torque, refer to 11 62 1AZ in ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES- COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .

Undo retaining screws (1) for heat shield.

Detach heat shield (2).

Unscrew 8 retaining screws (1) at exhaust manifold.

Remove exhaust manifold. Refer to 11 62 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SEALING/REPLACING EXHAUST MANIFOLD .

Installation Note: 

Make sure that the mating surfaces of cylinder head and manifold are clean.

Fit new gasket.

Tightening torque, refer to 11 62 2AZ in ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES- COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .
