18 12 030 Removing and installing/replacing rear muffler (W10)

WARNING: Danger of burning and other injuries! These tasks should only be carried out on an exhaust system that has cooled down! Remove the exhaust system with the assistance of a second person.

Release screws (1) of middle pipe on manifold flange.

Installation:

Replace seal.

Tightening torque, refer to 18 00 2AZ in EXHAUST SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .

Release screws (1).

Remove bracket from rear muffler.

Tightening torque, refer to 18 00 1AZ in EXHAUST SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .

Release screws (1) on reinforcement plate.

Lower exhaust system carefully.

Remove the exhaust system with the assistance of a second person.

Tightening torque, refer to 18 00 3AZ in EXHAUST SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .

Replacement only:

Replace all exhaust suspension elements. Refer to 18 21 051 REPLACING ALL EXHAUST SUSPENSION ELEMENTS .
