11 12 260 Removing and installing spark plug well

Special Tools Required: 

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

Fit special tool 11 8 500 in spark plug well.

Firmly tighten retaining claws (1) with lock screw (2).

Screw on adapter (3).

Screw in impact weight with screw (4).

NOTE: Drive out spark plug well.

Installation Note: 

Spark plug well must be replaced after disassembly.

Clean area around spark plug well.

Apply 3 mm thick bead of Loctite 277 sealing compound at a distance of about 1 mm from the end of the well.

1 = Bead of sealing compound.

2 = 1 mm from end of well.

Screw special tool 12 1 212 into spark plug hole.

Carefully install spark plug well (1).

Fit well with special tool 12 1 211.

Use special tool 12 1 211 to drive in spark plug well.

Installation Note: 

Spark plug well (1) is installed correctly when special tool 12 1 211 makes contact with special tool 12 1 212.

Assemble engine.
