61 71 100 Removing and installing/replacing window washer pump (windshield/rear window)

Remove wheel arch cover at front right top. See 51 71 040 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT WHEEL ARCH COVER

Drain fluid tank for windshield washer system

NOTE: When removing, carefully pull out window washer pump so that strainer is not pulled off and thus does not fall into fluid tank for windshield washer system. If this does happen, the fluid tank for the windshield washer system must be removed so that the strainer can be taken out.

Disconnect plug connection (2) in direction of arrow.

Detach hose (1) with angle section in direction of arrow from window washer pump (3).

Turn window washer pump (3) and pull upwards out of fluid tank for window washer system (4).

touring only: 

The rear window washer pump is removed in the same way as the windshield washer pump.

Installation: 

Ensure hose is laid without kinks.

Replace seal and strainer for windshield washer pump.

Coat seal with anti-seize agent.
